This ladies Clash t-shirts features a painting by Ray Lowry, the official artist who documented the band on the road on their US tour in 1979. Johnny Green the Clash Road Manager said of Ray, Ray Lowry understands the very essence of rock and roll and unusually for an artist he can capture it. The man was a genius. It shows Joe, Mick and Paul live on stage, the reds and yellows give a feeling of intensity.Ray would sketch the band whilst they played, often standing at the back of the gig or side of stage, he would then return to his hotel room and work late into the night to finish the piece adding colour from memory. Ray captures the personalities and movement of the individual band members can be seen.
